362 Blood Donor Scale Support Post
For
Use with Adjustable Automatic Donor Scales
Inspection
and Testing:
The
following visual and functional tests must be performed daily prior to
use:
-
Visual:
Refer to Figure 1 for visual inspection.
The blood donor scale support post must be inspected to check if:
a. The bubble in moving freely in the level eye.
b. If there is resistance in the movement of the front and top adjusting
screws.
c. The locating pins are broken.
d. Bent, or missing parts.
Note: If any of the conditions listed above are observed, do
not use the blood donor scale support post.

Functional:
If the blood donor scale support post is not already installed, perform
installation as instructed in the "Installation" section below.
The blood donor scale support post must be functionally tested as follows:
a. Slowly tilt the blood donor scale support post from the left to right
in the horizontal
direction while observing the bubble is moving freely in the level eye.
b. Slowly adjust the front adjusting screw inwards and outwards, ensuring
that there is no resistance
on the movement front adjusting screw.
c. Slowly adjust the top adjusting screw inwards and outwards, ensuring
that there is no resistance on
the movement top adjusting screw.
Note: If the blood donor scale support post fails the functional
test, do not use the blood donor scale
support post.
Installation:
-
Insert the blood donor scale support post into the adaptor plate on
the donor bed
-
Check for free movement of the blood donor scale support post and ensure
that the blood donor
scale support post is well anchored into the adaptor plate on the donor
bed.

The blood donor scale support post must be level to function properly.
Check level periodically.
If blood donor scale support post is jolted, disturbed or moved to a
different location, ensure that it
is level before using.
Instructions
for Use:
-
Slowly adjust the front and top adjusting screws until the bubble floats
exactly between the
black circle marked on the levels glass window.
a. If bubble is more to the front, or rear of level window - adjust
the front adjusting screw.
b. If bubble is more to the left, or right of level window - adjust
the top adjusting screw

Level is achieved when the bubble floats exactly between the black circle
marked on the levels
glass window. If the blood donor scale support post fails this check,
repeat step 1.
Maintenance:
- Do
not lubricate or perform any repairs on the blood donor scale support
post.
- Clean
blood donor scale support post on as-need basis only, using 10% bleach
and 90% tap, distilled or deionized water mixture.
